How does gravity work?

Gravity is a fundamental force that causes two objects with mass to be attracted to each other. According to the theory of general relativity proposed by Albert Einstein, gravity is a result of the curvature of space and time caused by the presence of mass and energy. The more massive an object, the more gravitational force it exerts on other objects around it. Gravity is responsible for keeping planets and stars in their orbits, as well as for the attraction of objects toward the Earth's surface. Without gravity, the universe would be very different and the concept of time and space would not exist as we know it.
