There are several types of electric vehicles currently available in the market, ranging from fully electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). Fully electric vehicles are powered solely by electricity and have no gasoline engine, while PHEVs combine an electric motor with a gasoline engine and can switch between the two power sources. HEVs, on the other hand, optimize the combination of a gasoline engine and electric motor to achieve better fuel economy. Additionally, there are also extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) which have a gasoline engine that serves only as a backup generator for the electric motor. With advancements in technology, more types of electric vehicles are expected to appear in the near future.
