What are the different components of personality according to Jung?

According to Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, there are several different components that make up a person's personality. The first component is the ego, which represents the conscious mind and is responsible for decision-making, problem-solving, and rational thinking. The second component is the personal unconscious, which consists of individual experiences, memories, and emotions that are not currently in conscious awareness. The third component is the collective unconscious, which holds universal, archetypal patterns and symbols that are inherited and shared by all humans. This collective unconscious is believed to shape behavior and personality through the activation of archetypes. Lastly, Jung emphasized the importance of individuation, the process of integrating the conscious and unconscious aspects of the personality, in order to achieve psychological growth and wholeness.
