What is Ravensbrück?

Ravensbrück was a concentration camp during World War II, located in northern Germany. Initially established as a camp for women, it later expanded to hold men and children as well. It was primarily used for the imprisonment and extermination of political prisoners, ethnic minorities, resistance fighters, and women deemed socially and morally unacceptable by the Nazi regime.
