What are the types of complex sentences?

Complex sentences are made up of an independent clause and one or more dependent clauses. There are three main types of complex sentences: compound-complex, where a sentence has two or more independent clauses and one or more dependent clauses; adverbial, where a dependent clause acts as an adverb modifying the main clause; and adjectival, where a dependent clause acts as an adjective modifying the main clause.
