What are the current consumer protection laws in Mizoram?

As of now, Mizoram does not have a specific Consumer Protection Law. However, the state has adopted the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 which is a central law. The act provides the guidelines for consumer disputes, complaint redressal mechanisms, product liability among others. In addition, the state government is taking steps to implement stringent rules and regulations that ensure consumer rights are upheld. The Mizoram State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) also runs awareness campaigns to educate consumers about their rights and promote the principles of fair business practices.
