What is CCI?

CCI stands for the Commodity Channel Index, a technical analysis indicator used to help identify trends in financial markets. Developed by Donald Lambert, it is primarily used to detect overbought or oversold conditions in an asset, as well as to identify potential trend reversals. The CCI is calculated based on the difference between the asset's typical price and its moving average, normalized by its average deviation. It is expressed as a number between +100 and -100, with values outside of this range indicating potential trading opportunities. Traders use the CCI in conjunction with other technical analysis tools to make informed decisions about buying, selling, or holding a position in a given asset.
