What is disability?

Disability is a term used to describe a physical or mental condition that limits a person's ability to perform everyday tasks. Disabilities can range from physical impairments, such as hearing or sight loss, to cognitive or learning disabilities, such as autism or dyslexia. Disabilities can be temporary or permanent, acquired or present from birth. People with disabilities may require accommodations or adjustments to enable them to participate fully in society, whether that be in education, employment, or social activities. A disability should not define a person, and everyone deserves equal opportunities and respect regardless of any impairments they may have.
