Push factors are those factors that push or drive people out of their home countries and compel them to immigrate to other countries. They are the negative factors that make the living conditions in their home countries unbearable or difficult because of political instability, economic hardships, natural disasters, war, violence, and religious or ethnic conflicts. These factors cause people to suffer from poverty, unemployment, lack of basic human rights and social amenities, and insecurity and fear of violence. As a result, they seek refuge in other countries that offer a better life, higher quality education, healthcare, and job opportunities. Push factors are usually the reason behind the increasing rate of immigration in many regions of the world.
