What is renewable energy?

Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources that are replenished continuously and can be used without depleting them. These resources include solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass energy. Unlike non-renewable sources such as oil, coal, and natural gas which are finite resources, renewable energy sources are inexhaustible, environmentally friendly and emit little to no greenhouse gases. They offer a sustainable, clean and low-cost alternative for meeting the increasing energy demands of the world while reducing its dependence on fossil fuels.
