What is CREC?

CREC, or the Capitol Region Education Council, is a regional educational service center in Connecticut that provides various programs and services to its member districts and beyond, including professional development opportunities, specialized education programs for students with disabilities, technology support, and leadership development. It was established in 1966 and has since grown to serve over 35 school districts in the Greater Hartford region. Its mission is to provide high-quality education services that support academic excellence, equity, and innovation.
