What are the steps of the WOOP method?

The WOOP method, developed by Gabriele Oettingen, is a goal-setting and problem-solving technique that consists of four steps. The first step is to identify a Wish, which is a specific and meaningful goal or aspiration. The second step is to visualize the Outcome, which involves vividly imagining the desired result or accomplishment. The third step is to acknowledge the potential Obstacles that could hinder the attainment of the goal. This requires identifying both internal and external obstacles and acknowledging their existence. Finally, the fourth step is to develop a specific and practical Plan that outlines the actions needed to overcome the obstacles and achieve the desired outcome. This step involves identifying the specific actions that can be taken to overcome the obstacles and achieve the goal. By following these four steps, the WOOP method provides a structured approach to goal-setting and problem-solving.
