What is Muslimgauze?

Muslimgauze is a musical project that was created by the British musician Bryn Jones in the 1980s. The project is known for its blend of Middle Eastern music and electronic music, often incorporating samples from field recordings of Middle Eastern instruments and vocalizations. Muslimgauze was influenced by Jones' interest in Middle Eastern politics, culture, and music, and many of the project's tracks have political and social themes relating to the situation in the Middle East. Despite Jones' untimely death in 1999, Muslimgauze continues to be a significant influence on contemporary experimental and electronic music.
