How can NDC targets and MRV be implemented in Vietnam?

Vietnam is committed to contributing to global efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change. In order to achieve this, the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) targets and Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) is necessary. The Vietnam government should establish strong legal framework and institutional arrangements to implement MRV effectively. The government should also invest in technology and training for monitoring and measuring the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, public-private partnerships should be developed to enhance the participation of the private sector in the implementation of NDC targets. Monitoring and reporting of progress towards the achievement of NDC targets should be reported transparently and regularly. Additionally, the government should create opportunities for stakeholder engagement, and public awareness initiatives should be developed to increase awareness on the importance of climate change and the country’s commitments to mitigating its impacts.
