What are the different stages of human development?
Human development can be divided into several stages, each characterized by distinct physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes. The first stage is infancy, which begins at birth and lasts until around two years old. It is a period marked by rapid growth and development of motor skills. Early childhood follows, spanning from ages two to six, where children begin to develop language, play skills, and social relationships. Middle childhood, occurring between six and twelve years old, is characterized by further development of language, cognitive abilities, and a greater understanding of social norms and responsibilities. Adolescence, starting from around twelve years old and extending into the early twenties, is a period marked by significant physical and hormonal changes, as well as identity formation, growing autonomy, and exploration. Finally, adulthood encompasses the stages of young adulthood, middle adulthood, and late adulthood, each with its own milestones, challenges, and opportunities for personal and social development.
